Burnham's U.S. Women's Open Dream Comes to an End After Second Round 74

  LANCASTER, Pa. – After carding a 79 during the opening round of the 2015 U.S. Women’s Open, Sarah Burnham bounced back with a 4-over par 74 during the second round Friday at Lancaster Country Club, failing to make the 36-hole cut.

Burnham, Maple Grove, Minn., opened the second round Friday with a bogey before rolling in her first birdie of the championship at the par-4 third hole.

She would make the turn at 1-over with a bogey at the eighth hole before slipping to 11-over for the championship with a bogey at the 10th.

Rolling in her birdie opportunity at the par-5 15th, Burnham attempted to gain momentum, but would make bogey at the 15th before carding a double-bogey on 16 to fall to 13-over.

Burnham finished her U.S. Women’s Open debut with a pair of pars to shoot 13-over par 153, missing the cut by nine strokes.

Korean Amy Yang leads American and former No. 1 ranked Stacy Lewis and Shiho Oyama by three shots after Yang followed up her opening round 67 with a 4-under par 66 Friday.
