Hemming and Two Others Qualify for MGA Amateur Championship

DULUTH, Minn. – With a 7-over par 79 Tuesday at Enger Park Golf Course, Michael Hemming earned medalist honors and qualified for the Minnesota Golf Association Amateur Championship.

The qualifier was held to determine the field at this year’s 111th championship, which will be played July 21-23 at Golden Valley Golf and Country Club in Golden Valley, Minn.

Hemming, South St. Paul, Minn., qualified with two others as a field of 15 golfers competed for three qualifying positions.

Drew Engelking, Edina, Minn., and Andrew Krasaway, Duluth, Minn., both carded rounds of 9-over par 81 to earn a spot in the championship next month.

Dustin Timmersman, Cloquet, Minn., and John Mozina, Rochester, Minn., finished as first and second alternates, respectively.
