COLERAINE, Minn. – Jon Lindquist carded a 1-over par 73 Tuesday at Eagle Ridge Golf Course to earn medalist honors as well as a spot in the 112th Minnesota Golf Association Amateur Championship.
A field of 28 golfers comprised the field for the qualifier with five players earning a spot in this year’s tournament, which will be played July 20-22 at Northland Country Club in Duluth, Minn.
Lindquist, Bent Creek Golf Club, will be joined at the championship by Sam Eisenhuth, Wilderness at Fortune Bay, who fired a 2-over par 74 to qualify.
Mike Barrette, Pokegama Golf Club, and Evan Skaar, Eagle Ridge Golf Course, both shot rounds of 4-over par 76 to earn a spot, while Andrew Sederlund, Virginia Municipal Golf Course, grabbed the final qualifying spot, shooting a 5-over par 77.
Ben Skaar (Eagle Ridge Golf Course), Andrew Betts (Oak Marsh Golf Club) and Joe Golcz (Northland Country Club) finished as first, second and third alternates, respectively.
