REDWOOD FALLS, Minn. – Pat Smith fired a 1-under par 69 Monday at Redwood Falls Golf Club to earn medalist honors and qualify for the Minnesota Golf Association Amateur Championship.
The qualifier was held to determine the field at this year’s 111th championship, which will be played July 21-23 at Golden Valley Golf and Country Club in Golden Valley, Minn.
Smith, Minneapolis, will be joined by Ben Frazzini, Medina, Minn., who carded an even par 70 to qualify along with Brent Grossman, Carver, Minn., who finished at 2-over par 72.
Jon Lindquist, Bloomington, Minn., earned a spot in the championship Monday by shooting a 3-over par 73, while Matthew Bennett, Marshall, Minn., Mitch Pfingsten, Fairmont, Minn., and Jake Witham, Roseville, Minn., all qualified by shooting 4-over par 74.
Jake Olsonoski, Bloomington, Minn., and Eric Anderson, Redwood Falls, Minn., finished as first and second alternates, respectively.
