DULUTH, Minn. – Building on a six-stroke lead from the opening round, the team of Leigh Klasse and Lynn Anderson carded a 1-over par 73 Tuesday to claim the Minnesota Women’s Golf Association Senior Four-Ball Championship.
Klasse and Anderson, both of Keller Golf Club, opened the championship with a 5-under par 73 and finished at 140 after firing a 73 on the final day to finish seven shots better than the team of Lili McMillan and Mary Flynn, who finished second at 147.
McMillan and Flynn shot 73 during the first round Monday and followed it with a 2-over par 74 during the final round.
Claudia Pilot and Brenda Williams, three-time winners of the event, finished in third place at 149, nine shots off the lead after carding an even par 72 during Tuesday’s final round.
Klasse claims her third MWGA Senior Four-Ball title in the past five years, while it’s the first title for Anderson in the event.
