Our mission is to provide a vision for the future of the game by supporting programs and initiatives that enhance the golfer experience, drive participation among youth, beginners and disabled golfers, endeavor to make the game more sustainable, and foster educational and experiential opportunities for children and young adults who are interested in golf and who represent the game’s future in Minnesota.

 

About the Minnesota Golf Association Foundation

The Minnesota Golf Association Foundation is the charitable affiliate of the Minnesota Golf Association. The Minnesota Golf Association Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable corporation and contributions are tax-deductible. It assists the golf industry in Minnesota by providing charitable support for three scholarship programs, the Caddie Development Program, the MGA Foundation Women's Scholarship (formerly MWGA Women's Scholarship), and the Jim Mendesh Memorial Scholarship and by administration of the Youth on Course Minnesota Program. There are several ways you can help the Minnesota Golf Association Foundation succeed in its mission to better the game of golf in Minnesota:

About Youth on Course MN

Provides youth ages 6-18 life changing opportunities through golf, including access to golf for $5 or less, paid high school internships and college scholarships. Find out more.

About the MGA Foundation Women's Scholarship

The Minnesota Golf Association Foundation Women's Scholarship (formerly the MWGA Foundation Scholarship established in 1998) supports young women in their collegiate ventures, and has committed more than $700,000 in scholarships to 82 recipients. The criteria for judging applicants are based on their academic excellence, financial need, quality of character, and interest or involvement in golf. Find out more.

About the Jim Mendesh Memorial Scholarship

The Jim Mendesh Memorial Scholarship is for students pursuing certificate or associate's degrees in a trade at an accredited vocational or technical school. The criteria for judging applicants are based on academics, financial need, interest in vocational or technical school and interest or involvement in golf.  Find out more.

About the Play Golf Minnesota License Plate

The Play Golf Minnesota License Plate is available at DMV locations. Golfers who pay the $30 plate fee will have the satisfaction of knowing that proceeds will be directed toward for-good-of-the-game programs, such as junior golf and player development, designated by a joint Minnesota MGA/PGA committee.
