Garber Qualifies for MGA Senior Players' Championship Along with Two Others

MINNEAPOLIS – Randy Garber shot an even par 35 Tuesday at Columbia Golf Club to earn medalist honors and qualify for the MGA Senior Players’ Championship.

The qualifier was held to determine the field for the 14th MGA Senior Players’ Championship, which will be played co-currently with the MGA Mid-Players Championship June 18-20 at Brackett’s Crossing Country Club in Prior Lake, Minn.

Ten players competed for three qualifying positions as the event was shortened to just nine holes Tuesday.

Along with Garber, Tim Kelley, Minneapolis Golf Club, earned a spot in the championship as he carded a 2-over par 37, while Skip Schultz, University/Les Bolstad Golf Course, grabbed the final spot by shooting a 3-over par 38.

Chick Evans, Chaska Town Course, and Bill Decker, Rum River Hills Golf Club, finished as first and second alternates, respectively.
