How They're Doing: Minnesotans on Pro Tour Money Lists -- Nov. 24
November 24, 2024
EDINA, Minn. – Carding three birdies during his final 11 holes Saturday, Trent Peterson posted the low round of the day, a 2-under 70, to extend his lead following the second round of the 45th Minnesota Golf Champions at Edina Country Club.
In search of his first victory at the event, Peterson will have a two-stroke advantage over former Winona State University golfer Michael Schmitz entering the final round Sunday, and a four-shot lead over Brent Snyder.
Peterson carded a 4-under par 68 to open the championship Friday and would play his opening seven holes in 1-over to begin the second round Saturday. Carding back-to-back birdies at the eighth and ninth holes, Peterson would turn in 5-under for the championship and added one final birdie at the par-5 13th to post a second consecutive round below par.
The 45th Minnesota Golf Champions concludes Sunday when the final round gets under way at 8:30 a.m. at Edina Country Club.
