Qualifying Spots: 12 Alternates: 2

Format/Qualifying Places: Format is 18-holes, stroke play (NEW BEGINNING IN 2024). The field of contestants will compete for qualifying places and two alternate positions in Final Qualifying for the 124th United States Amateur Golf Championship to be played August 12-18 at Hazeltine National Golf Club and Chaska Town Course, Chaska, Minnesota.

Paperwork: A copy of the Local Rules, Hole Location Sheet and USGA Hard Card will be available for taking a picture if you have not downloaded a copy to your phone in advance. There WILL NOT be paper copies distributed at your Starting Tee. NOTE: The Hole Locations sheet will be published on the webpage AFTER 6P OF THE DAY PRIOR TO THE QUALIFYING.

Electronic Scoring: The official method of scoring will be electronic by use of the Golf Genius Mobile App. Paper scorecards WILL NOT provided to players for the purpose of scoring. Players should review the printed and video educational information posted on the Qualifying webpage to be prepared for this process. Also, players should make sure their mobile devices are fully charged prior to beginning play and to have charging cables for use between rounds.

Playoffs: In the event of a tie for the final qualifying position and/or the 1st and 2nd alternate positions, a hole-by-hole playoff will be held immediately following the completion of play. All announcements regarding the playoff will be made at the public scoreboard upon completion of the qualifying round.

Practice Rounds: Dacotah Ridge Golf Club will be allowing practice rounds for the rate of $TBD (carts additional). Days and times are based on availability. Please contact the Golf Shop - 507/697-8050- and identify yourself as a Qualifying contestant to schedule a time.

Registration: Weather permitting, the Registration Table will be set up adjacent to the main entrance beginning 1½ hours prior to play. You are expected to check-in prior to your round to ensure your starting time, GGID and make sure there have not been any changes. In addition, if you have any last-minute questions regarding the scoring process, please ask at Registration. The Starter will not be able to help you.

Practice Range: The practice range will open at least one hour before the first starting time.

Food and Beverage: There will be food and beverage service available during the qualifying from the clubhouse.

Distance Measuring Devices: Per USGA Terms of Competitions card and the Rules of Golf, distance measuring devices that measure from point to point ARE PERMITTED in QUALIFYING. Any additional functionality, such as accounting for slope, is not allowed.
